VBS Workshop 2026
Theme: Illumination Station - John 8:12
Running a good VBS takes more than a curriculum box. The MVSBA’s annual workshop gives your team a full day to work through the material, ask questions, and come home with a real plan. This year the theme is Illumination Station, built around John 8:12.
The day runs 9am to 2pm at New Life Baptist Church in south Fresno. Breakout sessions cover different ministry roles, so it makes sense to bring your whole team - your director, teachers, and station leaders. Everyone gets more out of it when they attend together.
Lunch is included. You will also get the chance to connect with VBS leaders from other churches across the association - that informal time matters just as much as the sessions.

Pastors’ and Wives’ Retreat
Shore Cliff Hotel, Pismo Beach
The 2026 Pastors’ and Wives’ Retreat wrapped up February 24 at Shore Cliff Hotel in Pismo Beach. Forty-seven couples registered this year - the highest turnout the association has seen.
Pastoral couples spent two nights at the coast with three ministry sessions led by guest speakers, worship, and time to step away from the regular demands of ministry. The Shore Cliff Hotel sits above the Pacific, and the setting gave couples real space to rest and reconnect.
This retreat is held every year and is open only to full-time pastoral staff and their spouses. Details for the 2027 retreat will be posted here when available.
