MVSBA gathers churches across the Fresno area for training, renewal, and fellowship throughout the year. Some events are for pastors and their families. Others are open to anyone leading VBS, missions work, or ministry in their congregation.

VBS Workshop 2026

Theme: Illumination Station - John 8:12

Saturday, March 21, 2026 - 9am to 2pm (Lunch included)

New Life Baptist Church - 2033 S. Cedar Avenue, Fresno 93702

$10 per person

A full day of focused preparation for your VBS team. The workshop covers the Illumination Station curriculum in detail, with breakout sessions by role - directors work separately from teachers and station leaders. Bring the whole team and everyone leaves with a real plan for summer.

Pastors’ and Wives’ Retreat

$100 per couple

Full-time pastoral staff and spouses only (max 3 couples per church)

The 2026 retreat wrapped up February 24 at Shore Cliff Hotel overlooking the Pacific. Pastoral couples spent two nights at the coast with ministry sessions, worship, and time to reconnect. Details for the 2027 retreat will be posted here when available.

The Mid-Valley Southern Baptist Association offers a $100 annual grant to assist women serving in ministry who wish to further their education at a Southern Baptist Seminary. Applicants must be members of an MVSBA church.
